Dr. Chen is a Research Fellow of GBIC. He is also an Associate Professor at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE). He obtained a BA (Economics with Honours) and an MA (Financial Economics) degrees from Huazhong University of Science &Technology, MA (Economics) from York University and a PhD (Economics) from Simon Fraser University. Currently he is the Vice Chairman of the Department of World Economy and Trade, School of International Business Administration, Secretary-General at the Research Institute on Shanghai Free Trade Zone, research associate at Asia Pacific Foundation and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. He is a research consultant at Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) \u2013 a core economic forum of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). He is also a PhD supervisor. Dr. Chen\u2019s main research areas are international trade, Chinese economy and international economic cooperation.<\/p>\n
In the five years since he joined SUFE, Dr. Chen has published over 20 journal articles in Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) and top domestic journals. He is well-versed in China’s macroeconomic reforms, free trade areas and \u201cOne Belt, One Road\u201d.
