Jingguang Hu

Research Fellow

Dr. Hu is a Research Fellow of GBIC. He is also a postdoctoral researcher in the world-renowned Forest Products Biotechnology/Bioenergy (FPB) group at the University of British Columbia. The FPB Group is a world leader in technology and policy research aimed at developing solutions for replacing carbon-intensive petroleum products with renewable biomass. Dr. Hu’s current currently acts as the group leader of the enzyme group that consists of several post-docs and graduate students. He is also the main liaison with several company collaborations, from large multinationals such as Novozymes to smaller, start-up companies such as S2G and Mantra. Dr. Hu has established a strong network with many Chinese universities and institutes that have excellent biorefinery research programs such as Tsinghua University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion, to name a few. Dr. Hu has a strong record of continuous research productivity with publications and has been invited to speak in many prestigious international symposia related to industrial biotechnology.
