One of China’s major global economic initiatives in recent years is the Belt and Road, it presents a new opportunity for the whole world. Canada has now joined the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and started exploratory talks with China regarding a potential free trade agreement. However, there has been very limited discussion on the potential implications of the Belt and Road Initiative for the Canadian economy.
