As a category of Internet finance, crowdfunding appeared not long ago. Global crowdfunding started with the establishment of the “Kickstarter”, a crowdfunding website in the United States in April 2009. And in China With the launch of the demohour.com in May 2011, crowdfunding was first introduced in to China.
In May 2012, Massolution, a famous research institute in the United States, released the world’s first global crowdfunding report, giving crowdfunding a formal concept and attribute. Inspired by this report, a large number of new crowdfunding websites emerged around the world attempted to seize new opportunities in Internet finance.
The process of writing Crowdfunding has been going on for more than two years. I was supported by Dr. Jing Li and Dr. Bin Zhao from Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University in Canada, and was enthusiastically encouraged and supported by researchers from GBIC. Many parts of this book show researchers wisdom and depth of thinking.
